ABOUT GARY NASTU

Gary Nastu created his  technique "TODAY’S TECHNIQUE for TODAY'S ACTOR" from the personal instruction and training from some of the best acting teachers he was fortunate enough to study with while living and working in Los Angeles.

Gary has been teaching his acting technique and professional acting classes for over 20 years on both coasts. Gary has worked professionally as an Actor, Assistant Director, Casting By and Cameraman. His credits include Films, Television, and Theater in Los Angeles as well as locally. Gary is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

Gary studied acting at U.C.L.A. with Don Richardson  and was invited to study privately with Don (who wrote “Acting without Agony”)at his Studio. Don Richardson was such an influence on Gary and his technique that Don's book is required for acting classes age's 14 - Adult.

Gary also studied with Film and Television Director Harry Mastrogeroge and Sal Dano. Gary is very proud to say he was a friend and student of George Shdanoff, who Michael Chekhov’s book,To the Actoris dedicated too! Gary studied with Estelle Harman, Ari Barak and Jeff Garrard at the Estelle Harman Actors Workshop in Hollywood, California. Gary was employed and worked for the Estelle Harman Actors Workshop for over eight years as an Assistant Director, Cameraman and almost every aspect of Television production. He also worked for various production companies and crews for Commercial, Movie and Television productions while living in Los Angeles.

Mr. Nastu is the owner of Next Stop NY! Acting for TV, Film & Stage in Fairfield, Connecticut. He has coached and taught professional acting locally in Fairfield Connecticut since 2002.His classes have included  his technique "TODAY’S TECHNIQUE for TODAY'S ACTOR" an Alternative to the Method. Fundamental Acting through Professional Acting, Acting Technique, Scene Study, Camera Technique, Cold Reading Audition Technique, Improvisation and Commercial Acting. Gary Nastu was the "Director of the Acting Division" at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut in Trumbull from 2004-2008 where he created the acting program. Gary remained on the staff at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut teaching his acting classes from 2010 to 2013. Gary Nastu also teaches and offers acting classes in N.Y.C. called “Today's Technique for Today's Actor.”

Gary has taught acting students on both coasts who are working their way into the Entertainment Industry. His acting students are working and have worked with some of New York City’s and Los Angeles top Talent Agencies including Abrams Artists, Carson /Adler, F.B.I. Generation TV, Innovative Artist, TalentWorks, Coast to Coast Talent, The House of Representatives & Avalon Artist Group.


Gary's Actors have worked in TV, Film and on the Broadway Stage.
