Next Stop NY! Acting for TV & Film was created for those who have a desire and commitment to learn the craft of acting. We interview and audition all of our potential new actors. You have to prepare and perform a monologue of your choice for your audition. You should pick a monologue that you can relate to and for your age range.  

 We like to meet all new potential actors. We are very selective in accepting new actors into our program. Everyone is not accepted! Due to the audition / interview process it is advised to set up your audition as soon as you have a monologue ready to perform.

PAYMENT  UPDATE 

"All Students are required to Pay a Deposit of 225.00, plus a one time $25.00 registration fee  if they are accepted two weeks before class begins" There is no refund or make up for missed or cancelled classes of any kind!

Brief Description of  Workshop Class :    

Acting for TV & Film for Kids 10-13  Not offered at this Time ------offers an easy and fun way to learn what acting is and how to play the game. Our technique "TODAY'S TECHNIQUE for TODAY'S ACTOR"gives you a very simple way of working. Gary believes that acting is a work of the imagination. His technique will help you learn how to arrive at your emotions and analyze a scene and to create a believable character in a short period of time - which is required in today's Entertainment Industry. Each class offers an environment where all students will work in every class. The eleven week session consist of Acting Technique. Scene Study, Monologues & Cold Reading Taped Auditions. Gary also adds a Commercials classes when time permits.  

Acting for TV & Film for teens and adults 13-up offers an easy and fun way to learn what acting is and how to play the game. His technique "TODAY'S TECHNIQUE for TODAY'S ACTOR" gives you a very simple way of working. Gary believes that acting is a work of the imagination. This technique will help you learn how to arrive at your emotions and analyze a scene and to create a believable character in a short period of time – which is required in today's Entertainment Industry. Each class offers an environment where all students will work on stage in every class. The eleven week session consist of Acting Technique. Scene Study, Monologues & Cold Reading Taped Auditions. "Acting without Agony: An Alternative to the Method by Don Richardson" (2nd edition) is  required for acting classes ages 14-Adult.

All classes will consist of our technique, learning what acting is and how to play the game. We will also be working on scenes and monologues with fellow actors just like before.  But now we will be blocking it for camera instead of in person. You will Learn camera acting skills like taking Direction on set from the director changing emotions and objectives. Learn to match Personal business and movement while performing on Camera. Are you achieving your plan performance with your objectives and emotions? Is your performance believable? And do you pass the lie detector test especially on Camera! All Scenes and Monologues are video taped and playback for  comments.

Next Stop NY! Acting for TV & Film Offers an Eight - Week Summer Session
Our acting students will be matched up for scene work based on their attendance. Actors will work on Scenes, Monologues. It is a shorter schedule before our Fall Session begins and will keep their acting instrument in great shape.
